I. Classification by Production Process
- Spunlace Nonwoven Fabric
High-pressure micro-water jets are sprayed onto one or more layers of fiber webs, entangling the fibers together to reinforce the web and provide strength. The resulting fabric is spunlace nonwoven.
- Thermally Bonded Nonwoven Fabric
Fiber or powder-like thermoplastic bonding materials are added to the fiber web, which is then heated to melt and cooled to form a bonded fabric. - Airlaid Pulp Nonwoven Fabric
Also known as dust-free paper or dry-laid paper nonwoven. It uses airlay technology to separate wood pulp fibers into individual fibers, which are then aggregated onto a forming screen by airflow and reinforced into fabric. - Wet-laid Nonwoven Fabric
Fiber materials dispersed in water are separated into individual fibers and mixed to form a fiber suspension. The suspension is transported to a web-forming mechanism, where fibers are laid into a web in a wet state and then reinforced into fabric. - Spunbond Nonwoven Fabric
After polymer extrusion and stretching to form continuous filaments, the filaments are laid into a web. The web is then bonded through self-adhesion, thermal bonding, chemical bonding, or mechanical reinforcement to form nonwoven fabric. - Meltblown Nonwoven Fabric
The process involves: polymer feeding → melt extrusion → fiber formation → fiber cooling → web formation → reinforcement into fabric. - Needle-punched Nonwoven Fabric
A type of dry-laid nonwoven, needle-punched fabric is reinforced by the piercing action of barbed needles that entangle the loose fiber web.
- Stitch-bonded Nonwoven Fabric
Another dry-laid nonwoven, stitch-bonding uses warp-knit loop structures to reinforce fiber webs, yarn layers, non-textile materials (e.g., plastic sheets, metal foils), or their combinations into nonwoven fabric.
